There are many versions on the history or origin of Gingerbread cookies. While many have said that Gingerbread originated in the 15th or 16th century, its association with the year-end holidays did not come until much later. Gingerbread, with a beautiful blend of spices) used to be a delicacy reserved for special occasions in America and Europe.
Over the years, Gingerbread has made its way to many homes across the world during the year-end festive holidays and is seen as a favourite with both adults and children.
Perhaps you recall the song from an old Gingerbread Man movie ….. “Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me – I’m the gingerbread man!”

Our Gingerbread Cookies are home-baked with no preservatives. If properly stored at room temperature, the cookies stay fresh for 2 weeks. Otherwise, keep in the refrigerator should you decide to consume later (in case you find them too cute or pretty to eat!).
Ingredients: butter, dark brown sugar, molasses, egg, pure vanilla extract, all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, ground ginger, cinnamon, ground allspice, ground nutmeg and orange zest. (decorated with royal icing – icing sugar, egg and lemon juice)
